Gettysburg Community Theatre
Mission: To inspire creativity and confidence by providing cultural enrichment and instill a love of theatre arts in people of all ages and abilities through quality education and performance.
The Gettysburg Community Theatre started as a children's theatre and over the years has evolved to a community theatre offering opportunities to children, teens, adults, senior citizens and children with disabilities. It is celebrating its 10th season. The talent we have in this county is incredible and the productions the GCT puts on are of a very high caliber. Kristine serves on the board of GCT.
Both of Kristine's daughters have participated since the theatre's beginnings. She has always believed that it was such an incredibly amazing experience for them as they were growing up learning discipline, teamwork, stage presence, and so much more; that it doesn't matter what they do when they grow up. All of these experiences will have positively impacted them. While her oldest daughter has transitioned to band for her creative/musical outlet; her youngest daughter, Natalie, continues to be involved in GCT.
Natalie is participating in this year's Penguin Project. Penguins are special birds who can't fly but can still shine. The Penguin Project pairs students with disabilities with students without disabilities, where the students with disabilities are the actors and actresses and the students without disabilities are the mentors who shadow the Penguins on stage. It is an impactful experience to all students and volunteers involved. It's incredibly bonding. When the Penguins are on stage, they truly feel as if they can fly. This year's performance of the Penguin Project will be held at the Eichelberger Theatre in Hanover. Please, come out and support this amazing cast of Penguins and mentors in "The Wizard of Oz" November 16-18th. Call the Eichelberger Theatre to get your tickets.

Adams County Community Foundation
The Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF) inspires people and communities to build and distribute charitable Funds for Good, for Adams County, forever.
The ACCF was founded many years ago and was established because people who have lived, worked, and raised their families here were inspired to create lasting legacies that continue to benefit the current residents of Adams County. Each year, the foundation has granted approximately $148,000 in grants to non-profits in Adams County.
Kristine was inspired to start an Endowment Fund for Gettysburg Community Theatre. It was established in February 2018 to celebrate and recognize the GCT's 10th season. By establishing the Endowment Fund, the goal is to allow others whose lives have been positively impacted by GCT to give to the Endowment Fund, which once it reaches $25,000, it will pay out a percentage of the fund each year to support GCT's operations in Adams County.
If you have any questions about the foundation, feel free to contact Kristine at 717-253-4701 or Ralph Serpe at 717-337-0060. Visit the ACCF web page by clicking on the logo below.
Biglerville High School Marching Band
Kristine's oldest daughter, Natasha Hurwitch, has participated in band since 4th grade and in the march band specifically since 7th grade. She's currently a junior and is in her fifth season.
The BHS band has taught these students about team work, commitment and facing challenges as they arise. The marching band has won the Atlantic Coast Championships for 5 years in a row. It has been an incredible experience for my daughter and so many students at BHS. The program had been under the direction for Jamie Cope for 34 years, and this year has transitioned leadership to Rei Phillipe. Georgia Hollabaugh has worked along side Mrs. Cope for many, many years and will continue to work with Mr. Phillipe.
This fall's theme is "New Era". Come out to a Friday night football game or a competition and watch this powerhouse of talent perform.

Gettysburg Sharks Swim Team
Friends have talked about the Sharks Swim Team for years. Their kids have participated and loved it, and so this summer, Natalie swam for the Sharks as well. She loved the camaraderie and the physical challenge. Learn more about the Sharks by clicking on the logo below.
